Clamp replacement on Gambro's bloodlines Gambro are introducing improved pinch clamps into our bloodline portfolio. The new arterial clamps will be red and the venous blue, allowing easy identification of different parts of the tubing system. They also feature wrinkles for easy gripping to ensure the clamp is closed correctly, therefore reducing the likelihood of any blood loss from the patient, especially during the disconnection process. " Gambro's clamps are already used by nurses and healthcare assistants across the country," says Samantha Ford, Marketing Manager. " Now the improved clamps will make them even easier to use successfully." The colour- coded clamps will be phased into all of Gambro's bloodlines, cartridges and accessories in the coming months. New style pinch clamps will also be introduced to our drain bags, again ensuring ease of use and guaranteed safety. The new clamps are made from Polypropylene which eliminates stress- cracking and has higher rigidity for enhanced safety and reliability. It is also more environmentally friendly as it is manufactured without the use of chlorine, thus eliminating the hazards of deadly dioxin releases during manufacture and incineration. All courses are held at our technical training facilities in Huntingdon unless stated otherwise. AK 95 S Basic course 14- 17 October Any service engineer working with the AK 95 S should attend this four- day course as it provides participants with a thorough grounding in the relevant systems. After the course, engineers should be able to handle simple maintenance and trouble shooting. PrismaflexTMTechnical course 21- 22 October and 25- 26 November This two- day course provides a firm understanding of the Prismaflex'srole in continuous renal replacement therapy covering basic calibration, fault finding and simple maintenance. PrismaflexStudy Days Monthly during October- December These study days provide further knowledge on the principles of CRRT therapies and give delegates a firm overall understanding of using and trouble shooting the Prismaflex machine more effectively. It also enables us to better manage our spare part stocks, ensuring we can maintain customer equipment with minimal delay. " The GFS system also ensures the automatic transfer of data to our back office to further ensure the accuracy of our service records." We were delighted with the information captured in the ' GFS Lite' interim system and the improvements it enabled us to make to our service.
